This Bedroom is named after Seymour, Jane
(c.1509-37), Queen consort of Henry VIII of England from 1536.
She was the king’s third wife, supplanting Anne Boleyn. In 1537 Jane gave birth to a son, the future Edward VI, but died twelve days later. Henry had been genuinely fond of her and mourned her death.
